Project(s): City of Encinitas Email: jqueri@civicspark.lgc.org Fellow Bio:

Jillian Queri was born and raised in Park City, Utah, but has called Encinitas home for more than a year. A lifelong skier, Jillian became interested in sustainability at a young age after experiencing the impacts climate change was having on her small mountain community and the ski industry as a whole. In 2017, Jillian received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with minors in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Denver. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Sustainability at Harvard University. Before entering the environmental sector, Jillian worked as a journalist for magazines like POWDER and SKI. She is now excited to combine her knowledge in journalism with public outreach and reporting for the city of Encinitas’ Climate Action Plan. Jillian is passionate about the intersection of environmentalism with social justice, and is committed to making education about sustainability and climate mitigation more accessible and equitable for all.
