Jack Barnes graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2019 with a B.A. in Global Studies and a minor in Creative Writing. After college he did a year of volunteer work with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in lovely Cleveland, OH. While there he worked at the West Side Catholic Center in the Workforce Development Program, teaching a job-readiness course, and ran the Expressive Arts Program, where he coordinated art-related activities free of charge to the Center’s clients. Jack’s work at the Catholic Center contributed to his belief in the primacy of housing as a determinant of health and social equity. He is excited to be back in his hometown of Sacramento working on affordable housing with the City of Elk Grove.
