A Los Angeles native born of immigrant parents, David Saldaña is a first-generation graduate from California State University Dominguez Hills holding a B.A in Geography and minors in Earth Sciences/Geotechniques. During his time at Dominguez Hills, David held several positions on campus such as: Geospatial research assistant at CSUDH’s Paleoclimate Lab, Intern for CSUDH Office of Sustainability, and President of the Earth Science Club. With the preparation of coursework completed alongside his involvement pioneering green initiatives with the Office of Sustainability, David became passionate about fighting climate change within his community. Operating with FoodCycleLA through the California Climate Action Corps, David is looking to build on and implement the foundational knowledge acquired while matriculated in the CSU system by teaching sustainable food diversion practices to low-income communities encompassed in the Greater Los Angeles area. Upon the completion of his fellowship, David plans on continuing his education by returning to Dominguez Hills for a MS Environmental Sciences and later pursuing a PhD.
