Jilan Hamdan lived in Dubai for the majority of her life before returning to California to earn her B.A. in Environmental Science & Policy and B.A. in Social Ecology at UC Irvine. Environmental conservation has been her greatest passion from a young age, kickstarted by founding a marine conservation organization when she entered high school, and has continuously grown through volunteer, internship, research, and lab positions. She is more than excited to start her service year with the City of Irvine where she hopes to gain and strengthen her skills as an aspiring environmental consultant and continue to take action to protect the environment and community.
