Fellow Bio

Will Stieg (he/him/his) grew up in Los Angeles, CA and recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors in History and a minor in Moral and Political Philosophy. During his time at Michigan, he enjoyed carrying out independent projects in economics, political activism, and history, including a senior thesis concerning the intersection of constitutional history, public health regulation, and Reconstruction Era politics. Will greatly enjoys investigating the economic, societal, and philosophical underpinnings that influence people’s decision-making as well as the implications those might have on individuals broadly. His specific policy interests include housing, infrastructure, and civil rights. In his free-time, Will enjoys hiking/backpacking, photography, and reading literature and nonfiction alike. He is very excited for the opportunity to help bolster affordable housing stock in his role at the California Department of Housing and Community Development and in his capacity as lead of the Community Design Network leadership project.
